The Eagle’s Nest, West Newbury

A New Year’s Women’s Wellness Retreat  Restore & Revivify with Vibrance Practices
Facilitators: Tamara Hernandez and Ellen Watson

What is the Vibrance Practice?

Vibrance is an all encompassing word that includes the expressive arts (dance, song, poetry, & theater), the healing and somatic arts (touch and movement), breathwork, soundwork.
In this weekend, our program is specifically designed for women...for returning from an extended holiday time, to honor the Epiphany (January 6) or the return of the light.  We’ve woven the fabric for this weekend in support of restoring energetically, physically, and to give all of us a nourishing and replenishing time together.

What is Vibrance Touch?

Touching and being touched are essential needs for all humans and animals.  Without touch, babies wither and die, as do puppies, kittens, and all four legged and two legged creatures.

Vibrance Touch is for Everybody; this is not a training; Tamara and Ellen will share with you the essential techniques for releasing tension in your neck, shoulders, arms, hands, and feet...as we do this, your entire nervous system relaxes, calms and restores.  You can take what you learn with you and share it with your family and friends.

Tamara Hernandez

Tamara joined Ellen’s Dance program at Esalen in 1997, and has been dancing ever since. A mother of two teenaged girls, Tamara shares her gifts with them and their friends, with her two Shepherds Grim and Zara, cat, Moonpie. A lover of Nature, the land and the sea, Tamara built the Eagle’s Nest as a home for her family and a studio for sharing the healing and somatic arts with her community.

While at Esalen, Tamara studied Spiritual Healing and has more recently studied and certified in Equine Massage. Whether touching horses, humans, felines or canines, Tamara has a gift as a ‘Whisperer’.  Whisperers have developed the ability to deeply listen through the unspoken language of touch.

After falling from her horse, and breaking her arm, Tamara picked up a paint brush; brush to canvas…and has emerged 12 years later, as an accomplished, self-taught artist.  Her work captures the soul of her subjects.
