What is Fluid Presence?
Fluid Presence™ refers to the exquisite existence of living in both the world of spirit and  matter, form and formlessness, emptiness and fullness. Understanding the all-encompassing, paradoxical nature of existence is truly beyond comprehension. Yet, when we soften and rest into our hearts, we sense something else. We feel the unfathomable Mystery summoning us to live this miraculous existence as a flow of sentience, as an ever unfolding feeling-experience of oneness and individuation.
Fluid Presence™and SomaRasa is an offering. It is a style of re-education; creating a shift in the perception that keeps us habitually looking through the narrow lens of a separate self. The invitation offered, through experiential and sensory awareness, is to gently and viscerally rest back into what has always been looking through our eyes and feeling through our bodies.

The Program: Three Levels of Fluid Presence
Fluid Presence: Foundation
Week 1: April 9 - 15, 2023

This course is open to beginners as well as seasoned professionals looking to refine technique, body mechanics and learn new principles.

Fluid Presence Foundation provides a solid foundation for warm-water therapy, particularly in preparation for Fluid Presence & WaterDance as well as other modalities.  “Learning the Water” is regarded as a non-linear, multi-dimensional, transmission process therefore students are given time for learning to unfold in a spacious way which nurtures absorption and integration. Body mechanics unique to the water and basic frameworks are offered from which we explore the stability and simultaneous invisibility of the giver in various “Water Holding” positions.
In Fluid Presence Foundation, we explore the art of breath connection, detecting, supporting and encouraging the breath through attainment with our receiver. We cultivate confidence with the technique as well as developing trust, connection and intuition as the foundation for all warm water therapy modalities and the art of submerging. This course also emphasises communication skills for establishing rapport and cultivating the openness and innocence of “beginner’s mind.”   Support will be given to encourage beginners as well as seasoned practitioners to learn technique while attending to their receiver in an open, fluid, spontaneous, attentive and caring manner.

Fluid Presence: Moving Underwater & Dancing in Water

Week 2: April 16 - 22, 2023

In Level 2 we expand on the art of dialog with clients before and after the water-holding portion of the session. We continue to deepen trust in our intuitive role in the therapeutic relationship. Verbal and nonverbal reflection skills will be practiced and refined along with the direct experience of giving from “neutral”.  A series of “frameworks” are presented which allow for greater accuracy within the above and underwater holding positions. This furthers the giver’s proficiency and confidence to simultaneously transmit security and stability along with fluidity and freedom. Students learn to energetically connect, feel and follow what is happening on all levels. Students expand upon what they have already learned about maintaining tonal match and increase their capacity for remaining open and being a supportive presence.  This course equips students to better navigate the non-ordinary states of consciousness so accessible in the warm-water holistic therapy environment.
Students can expect to explore:
Expansion of Body Mechanics & Surface Holding Positions
Underwater Holding “Frameworks”
Sensing, Feeling, Tracking & Following Energy
Energetic Boundaries
Refinement of the Art of Breath Connection in Relation to Submerging and Emerging
Refinement of Communication Skills
Giving from “Neutral”
Meditative Self-Inquiry
Refinement of “Sweet Spot” Between Stability & Invisibility

Fluid Presence: Soma Rasa & Falling in Love with Breath
Week 3: April 23 -29, 2023

The principles of what was taught in “The Presence Of Being” as well as “SomaRasa” classes are woven into the material that is presented in these condensed 3 Levels of Fluid Presence.
Using the gentle quality of the warm water as the medium and our willingness to be Present as the catalyst, we will discover what happens when we are devoted to truly being with ourselves. In fully allowing rather than resisting what is, and offering unconditional acceptance to whatever reveals itself we discover a vast well-spring of peace within. This embodied recognition then naturally becomes a compassionate invitation that we extend to others.
On the part of the giver/provider, this requires a repeated willingness to meet our own edges, to become aware of whatever belief systems are in place for us and to discover what motivates us as therapists. Through experiential investigation with loving kindness and sensitivity we welcome all aspects of ourselves and honor the innocence behind our coping mechanisms. We thus liberate where we have become fixated to a conceptual map over a perceptual map. We entrain to the warm water environment as an invitation to explore our essential nature and to discover the inherent Grace that reveals itself when we meet each other there.
The Healing Power of Unconditional Presence
Self Inquiry & Meditation
The Art of Conscious Touch & Breath Connection
Establishing Rapport
Equanimous Communication Skills
Ethics of Warm-Water Holistic Therapy
Becoming an Extension of the Water
Awareness Exercises
Embodied “Neutral”

What can I Expect to Learn & Practice?

All forms of aquatic work increase range of motion, elongates the spine, stretches muscles, and relieves tension and stress. The warmth and hydrostatic pressure of the water promotes healthy circulation and calms the nervous system. It is wonderful for relieving the aches and pains of pregnancy while giving expectant moms to be an opportunity to connect with their developing child. Aquatic offerings are deeply relaxing and nurturing for everybody.  In this course we will learn:

  • Water Body Mechanics
  • Water-Holding Positions
  • “Sweet Spot” Between Stability & Invisibility
  • Sensing, Feeling, & Tracking Energy
  • Energetic Boundaries
  • The Art of Breath Connection
  • Playful Exploration of Submerging and Emerging
  • Introduction to Equanimous Communication
  • Giving from “Neutral”
  • Meditative Self-Inquiry

Receiving sessions in the water can be very powerful and have profound effects on the body, heart, mind, & soul. The water is a soft place to land with whatever is happening in your life at the moment, and is a very supportive and nurturing modality. Sessions are uniquely tailored to fit each individual, are an hour long and include time for dialogue about your intention and needs for the session. I recommend that you give yourself plenty of time after the session to walk, write, sit, integrate, and simply be with yourself.

Venue & Accommodation

Mimpi Resort, Menjangan, Bali
On the North-West coast of Bali in the village of Banyuwedang, Mimpi looks out towards the Menjangan Island.  The area is notorious as a hot-spot for diving and snorkelling and just a little further down the coast a regular dolphin hangout.

Mimpi's most special feature is its waters, as the resort is built across land with several natural hot springs.  The careful architecture and landscaping makes for several shared natural hot spring pools across the 3 hectares of land.  Inevitably the water and it's high mineral content is totally refreshing, rejuvenating and holds it's own healing qualities.  For us the pools are perfect for aquatic bodywork, where we dance in the water to feel true fluidity.

Classes take place in the Wantilan.  A large space with wooden floors, the sounds of birds and some gentle breezes.  We decorate the wantilan with beautiful silk hangings and bring a range of equipment from musical instruments, to dancing scarves, yoga mats, yoga balls and of course an excellent sound system!

Patio Room

Mimpi's standard room is the patio.  Stylishly finished and available with twin or double beds these rooms are home for most of our students through programs and regularly receive excellent feedback.

The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, making them easy to share with another guest whilst maintaing plenty of personal space.

Courtyard Villa

The Courtyard Villa is a pleasant and affordable upgrade to the patio room. With it's own garden and it's own private hot spring tub, the CY Villa is a taste of luxury.

The CYV also has an additional mezzanine that is perfect for families with children or private space for meditation.

A further addition is the private garden terrace and outdoor seating area making this ideal for sitting in the open air sunshine whilst keeping some peaceful solitude, alone or with your partner.  If booking a shared space in this room category, you must book with a partner.
