II - Dancing On The Land and In The Water: A 5Rhythms™ and Watsu Retreat

Ellen writes, "Davida and I began dancing the 5Rhythms™ together at Esalen® and in New York in the mid 80's. When I discovered the land and waters of Mimpi-Menjangan,Bali, I knew I had found a place to combine land dancing with aquatic dancing. Mimpi's hot mineral springs and the tropical warmth of the Bali Straits beckoned me. As I explored undulate movement in both sea and hot springs, with both experienced and novice receivers, I became inspired with the idea for this collaboration. While not a training, this retreat will support deeper embodiment for beginners as well as experie
nced somatic artists and educators."
Davida writes, "In our exploration of WaterDance, we will use our breath, our awareness, our movements and our intuition to deepen the connection to oneself and another. We will learn the basics of how to hold someone in the water and how to establish rapport, so that we can develop trust and the quality of presence which enlivens us to a more authentic way of being . As we surrender to the water, ease and graceful fluidity emerge, providing a sense of freedom, peace, and profound joy that we can infuse into our daily lives."
Our retreat schedule will vary, offering us the opportunity to move before eating, mid morning, and later in the afternoon.
We will have long afternoons for swimming, lounging, beaching and napping. The weather and wind will determine which days are best for going into the Bali Sea for snorkeling, scuba or water dance. We will include two evenings of dance on land that take us into the dream-time.

$2,199.00 USD, courtyard villa with hot springs soaking pool, and cool plunge pool, shared with another person.
Prices include tuition, room, delicious brunch daily, and 5 dinners. Above prices do not include: airfare, some lunches and some dinners, airport pick-up/return. Airport pick-up/return fee is $60 per taxi one way or $15 per person one way (if shared by 3 others).

For those with a professional somatic arts practice, we are accepting applications for you to offer private sessions while you are participating in a program. Apply to Ellen.

You will need your passport, valid at least 6 months from date of entry, and a visa if you plan to stay in Bali for longer than 30 days. For a 30-day stay or less, you can get the standard "visa on arrival" when you land in Bali.
