This workshop will focus on effective techniques for inducing and/or reminding self-regulation and balance for your clients.
Trauma and stress de-regulate the function of the autonomic nervous system which governs breath, digestion, sleep, and emotional resiliency. Yet, below this layer of disturbance is a layer of inherent wellness and well being. This workshop will teach practitioners how to discover, resonate, and evoke this layer in themselves and in their clients.
Topics include:
Breathing fundamentals related to lungs, diaphragm, ribs, and shoulders
Myofascial techniques for specific body areas and layers
Skeletal alignment and re-patterning for enhanced balance, stability, and organ support
Combining the sensing of subtle fluid movement with structural work, using both active and
passive movement
Supporting and accommodating special needs in students and clients
Lectures, demonstrations and supervision practice will focus on the integration of compassionate, educated touch and movement meditation techniques from Esalen Massage, Body Mind Centering, Rolfing and Rolfing Movement, and Continuum Movement. This Balinese training will have the opportunity to take advantage of the tropical ocean and warm mineral springs for explorations in the water as well as on the floor and at the table.
